The Cullman County
Economic Development office provides a variety of services.
CCED, at the discretion
of the Cullman County Commission, assists local municipalities
in aquiring funds for community development
projects, such as walking trails, parks, boat docks, improvements
to community buildings and others. Each year, CCED participates
in the Federal
Emergency
Management Agency's
Firefighters
Assistance
Grant
Program,
aiding local volunteer fire and rescue organizations in obtaining
funding for personal protective equipment, operating and
training equipment, and vehicles. CCED also aids
other county departments
in obtaining grant monies and other federal and state funding.
The
Cullman County Economic Development office is also responsible
for the promotion of Cullman County through this website, which
it maintains along with several other county sites. The office also assists
other county offices with the maintenance and updating of
their own seperate websites, such as Cullman County Parks & Recreation Department and the county public library system. CCED
also aids county offices in the production of audio/visual
presentations and other electronic and print documents as well
as assisting the County Commission Office's Data Processing
Department with computer/networking issues at the courthouse
and outlying county offices.
CCEDalso works closely with the Cullman County Industrial
Development Authority, facilitating and hosting board meetings,
and with the Cullman Economic Development Agency, who handle
industrial recruitment for the area, as well as with the
Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce.
